Baotou, in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, has added two new modules to its online immunization planning information management system, according to the city’s center for disease control and prevention.

The two modules, vaccine monitoring and vaccination card verification, are intended to provide residents with access to vaccine information and to enable them to inquire about the status of particular vaccines and vaccination programs.

The online vaccine monitoring module records and analyses a vaccine’s entire circulation process, detects in real time the inventories and usages of vaccines at all levels of the unit, and ensures that the vaccine tracking process runs smoothly and inoculation traceability remains high.

The online vaccination card checking module can provide education department officials with an online means to check the validity of vaccination certificates, facilitating student enrollment, and assisting those children who have not yet completed the immunization process to do so. The module will also help the verification work of the disease control and education departments, linking the two for close cooperation and data sharing.
