Hohhot tops the nation for cage-type soccer pitches

Hohhot in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has topped the nation for the most cage-type soccer pitches, with a total of 604 pitches put into use in the city.

“Hohhot has rolled out long-term plans to make the most of soccer pitches to meet the high demands of the public,” said Shi Rongen, director of Hohhot Sports Bureau. 

The local government plans to introduce social investments to organize more soccer events and innovations in regards to the management and operation mode of soccer pitches. 

These pitches will also encourage the primary and middle schools to try out the sport. 

Shi said that these plans are expected to help enrich the lives of local residents and promote the development of soccer in the city.
