A new youth tennis team was formed in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region on May 20.
Managed by Inner Mongolia Vocational College of Physical Education, the tennis team is designed to improve the standard of tennis among young people in China, and work towards national sports goals.
Selected from Hohhot's youth tennis clubs, about 30 tennis players, aged 8 to 15 became the first members of the new team.
The vocational college has also signed agreements with Wangmiao youth tennis club, Menggufeng tennis club and Wangxing tennis club in Hohhot, ensuring that the team is able to select the best of the city's talented young tennis players.
Members who perform particularly well in the team will be eligible to become professional players after they graduate from college.
