Registration opens for 2018 Swim Across the Yellow River

Registration for the "2018 Swim Across the Yellow River" opened on April 3.

The event will take place at the city's National Swan Lake Wetland Park on May 28. It is being co-hosted by the National Sports Bureau, Chinese Swimming Association, Henan Provincial Sports Bureau, and the organizing committee of the 24th Sanmenxia International Yellow River Tourism Festival & China Specialty Products Fair.

The swim will promote conservation of the Yellow River, known as the Mother River of China, advocate national fitness, strengthen the city's tourism brand and provide an opportunity for swimming enthusiasts to meet up.

The activity consists of five parts—a joint meeting of delegation heads, an opening ceremony, a water crossing, a singing session along the river and an award ceremony.

The number of participants is limited to 3,000 people - this includes members registered for the winter swim, open water and adult committee of the Chinese Swimming Association, invited swimming associations, swimming groups from Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan as well as swimming enthusiasts from around the world.
