Tan Chengxu, mayor of Dalian city, Liaoning province, met with South Korean ambassador to China Noh Young-min at the Bangchuidao Hotel in Dalian on May 19.
At the meeting, Tan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced Dalian’s current state of development.
Dalian has established partnerships with seven South Korean cities, including Incheon, Kwangyang and Chejudo, according to Tan.
Currently, there are 2,839 South Korean companies in Dalian. An economic and trade delegation recently visited South Korea and has made new breakthroughs in cooperation.
Tan said that Dalian will provide more preferential policies and create a good business environment for foreign investors. He hoped that the two sides could strengthen cooperation in equipment manufacturing, petrochemistry, education, as well as science and technology.
Noh Young-min said that Dalian plays a significant role in the opening-up of Northeast China. The South Korean embassy in China will continue to promote cooperation between the two sides.
