Water levels in the downtown section of Songhua River in Harbin are expected to fall to record levels in the following few days, lower than the previous record of 114.26 meters recorded on May 22, 2017.

Dadingzishan Navigation and Hydropower Complex increased the flow rate of Songhua River to irrigate fields in its lower reaches in Harbin starting on May 9.

Due to the decrease of water flowing from the source that feeds the river, the water level in the Harbin section is under threat.

Statistics from Dadingzishan Navigation and Hydropower Complex reveal that the water level in the Harbin downtown section maintained 115.55 meters from May 5 to 7, and will continue to fall due to irrigation usage.
