Beijing firms offer investment to Inner Mongolia

A conference was held between Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Beijing in Hohhot, capital of Inner Mongolia autonomous region from May 13 to 15, generating waves of investment in some of the region's poorer areas.  

Supported by Beijing State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, the conference involved 90 industrial projects with a total investment of 26.6 billion yuan ($41.8 billion).

During the conference, 42 Beijing firms offered investment to 31 poverty-stricken counties in Inner Mongolia, covering industries including tourism, logistics, e-commerce and modern services.

Power Beijing Co Ltd, Beijing Tong Ren Tang Co Ltd, Beijing Yueshengzhai Halal Food Co Ltd and Snow Lotus Group signed strategic cooperation agreements with Inner Mongolia's Hinggan League, Xilin Gol League and Chifeng during the conference.

The conference is expected to help Inner Mongolia in its fight against poverty, as well as with high-level exchanges and cooperation between Inner Mongolia and Beijing.

In April, the Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region signed a three-year framework agreement with Beijing to tackle poverty.
