More exchanges are expected with Ghana in trade, education, tourism and culture in the near future, Han Jingyi, deputy mayor of Xiamen, said on May 11.

Han made the remark while meeting with a delegation led by Edward A. Boateng, Ghana ambassador to China.

The deputy mayor said that Xiamen and Ghana have many cooperation opportunities in the above-mentioned four fields.

Xiamen is a tourism city with beautiful scenery, pleasant climate and convenient transportation.

As a port city, Xiamen also boasts wider opening to the outside world and at present, the city has constructed its special industrial structure with high-end manufacturing and modern service industries as its pillar industries.

The Ghana ambassador said that this is his first visit to Xiamen and he found Xiamen to be a beautiful coastal city.

He hopes that more activities between Xiamen and Ghana will be organized in the future so as to promote their exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

During the ambassador's stay in Xiamen, he also visited Xiamen University, one of China's top universities to explore scientific research cooperation, teacher training, and student exchanges.
