Hainan's 54 hotels rated as 5A level for conferences

The results of the conference type hotel grade estimation were recently released by the Department of Commerce of Hainan Province which has been carrying out the survey since December last year.

The ranking aimed to improve hotels' conference facilities, enhance conference organizational ability and service levels, and strengthen the competitiveness of Hainan's conference business.

Among over 120 hotels, 108 were approved for business and meetings. Fifty-four were rated as 5A level, 29 were named as 4A, and 25 were 3A. As for their locations, 35 are in Haikou, 32 in Sanya, eight in Qionghai, six in Lingshui, Maicheng, and Wenchang, four in Wanning, three in Danzhou, two in Baoting and Dongfang, and one in Ledong, Changjiang, Lingao and Wuzhishan. Twenty-seven hotels have conference rooms of up to 1,000 sq m.

It was pointed out at the ceremony celebrating the 30th birthday of the Hainan Special Economic Zone that developing a modern service industry is consistent with industrial development and conforms to Hainan's actual requirements. Tourism, internet, medical treatment and health, finance, conventions and exhibitions should be highlighted with international standards and optimized structure.

Hainan is an important conference destination. The conference hotel assessment will help cultivate some benchmarking enterprises devoted to enhancing Hainan's international and professional service level and facilitating high quality development of the conference and exhibition industry.
