Baotou in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region launched its first voluntary service project competition on May 4, according to local media.
The competition, jointly hosted by the civilization office of Baotou and Baotou Volunteer Service Federation, started at the beginning of 2018. A total of 100 voluntary service projects meeting the requirements were collected.
After qualification examination and expert evaluation, 23 projects were selected to enter the practice assessment.
The 23 selected projects cover nine categories including helping the elderly, community service, healthcare, disaster relief, and environmental protection.
A list of the 23 selected projects was released at the launch ceremony. The 23 project leaders all signed a letter of commitment.
