Taxation education to start at a young age in Sanmenxia

Sanmenxia, Henan province has recently been making a bold attempt to bring taxation education to primary and middle school students.

Officers from the Sanmenxia Municipal Office of the State Administration of Taxation staged a drama for students at Shangde Primary School in Mianchi county. The show taught them the basics of taxation and invoices in simple language as well as how to use the 12366 hotline to inform authorities of any violations.

A short film was also shown warning students of the consequence of violating tax law. The students were encouraged to write down their thoughts by giving examples of taxes in their daily life.

A group of young reporters from Sanmenxia Radio and Television interviewed officials of the State taxation office in Hubin district, giving children their first glimpse of taxation in casual conversation. In the interview they discussed the effect taxation has on people's lives and on state-building.
