Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone had won a total of 27 projects worth 32.6 billion yuan ($5.12 billion) as of April 15, reports Baotou Daily.
The projects cover areas including rare earth applications, non-ferrous metals, equipment manufacturing, big data, urban complexes, and cultural tourism.
Among the projects, China Overseas Smart City project is to draw an investment of 30 billion yuan. Ten are rare earth applications projects worth a combined total of 1.09 billion yuan. And three are new energy industry projects worth 1.06 billion yuan.
In addition, there are 61 projects currently being negotiated which are expected to draw in total investment of approximately 57 billion yuan.
