The city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province saw a boom in tourism during the three-day Labor Day holiday as the tourism bureau and tourism association organized various activities.
Yantai Nanshan Park drew in more than 100,000 tourists with its fantastic animals and science lecture series. Yuhuangding Park launched special folk performances like a paper-cutting experience to showcase its traditional culture. A stunning lighting show was on display at 37 Degree Dream Sea Park.
A "Thousands of visitors tour countryside" activity organized by the Yantai tourism bureau provided guests a chance to get close to nature and seek a temporary escape from the fast pace of city life. Ten tourism routes and 32 themed activities including special towns, a leisure holiday, sightseeing, and picking gardens offered visitors a variety of different experiences.
Some scenic spots like Kunyushan Mountain, Muping and Laiyang, which offered spectacular late spring flower-seas, were also popular.
