Zhuhai City Polytechnic

Zhuhai City Polytechnic (ZHCPT) is a full-time college sponsored by the Zhuhai municipal government. It was founded in April, 2004 with the approval of the Guangdong provincial government and is listed by the Ministry of Education of China. In November 2013, it was approved by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education and Guangdong Provincial Department of Finance as a higher vocational college among the third wave of exemplary colleges currently under construction. ZHCPT engages in higher vocational education and complemented by continuing education, life-long education and distance education. It follows the "Ternary System", a strategy which integrates the advantages of government, colleges, and industry to create an open education model which acts in coordination with industry, college and research. It plays an important role in transforming Zhuhai into an education-oriented city.

Through collaboration and innovation, the college aims to occupy an area of 361,400 square meters and equip itself with comprehensive infrastructure. ZHCPT is well-equipped with laboratories, function rooms and teaching equipment valued at a total of 51.5 million yuan ($8.1 million). Books and reference materials exceed 326,000 in number.

There are 11 departments, namely the Department of Economics and Management, Department of International Cooperation and Communication, Department of Electronics and Information Engineering, Department of Humanities and Social Management, Department of Tourism Management, Department of Industrial and Art Design, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Aerospace and Marine Engineering, Department of Ideology and Politics Teaching, Department of Physical Education, and Department of Adult Education (Zhuhai Radio and TV University). The college has set up 36 specialties closely related to local economic and social development.

At present, there are more than 16,000 students, including 6,387 full-time higher vocational college students and 9,100 part-time college-level adult students.

ZHCPT currently employs nearly 500 staff members, including 261 full-time teachers which are associate professors or above, and 17 with a master's or doctoral degree.
