Ajman sees business potential in Hunan

More than 30 Hunan-based enterprises have an interest in investing in Ajman China Mall, according to a promotion event held by Ajman's economic department in Changsha on April 26.

Among them, Broad Homes Industrial International Co, Sany Heavy Industrial Co and Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co are expected to make use of the platform to expand their overseas business.

Invested by Hunan Bosen Industrial Group, the Ajman China Mall, located in the Ajman Free Zone, is a merchandise wholesale distribution center. Its main business covers wholesale of general merchandise, hardware, appliances, furniture and small articles.

The first phase of the project went into operation at the end of 2010 and now registers an annual turnover at $2 billion.

Various products imported from Hunan province, such as black tea and porcelain, are very popular among local consumers.

Recent years have seen frequent economic and trade exchanges between the Central China province and the emirate of Ajman, with their respective commercial departments signing a cooperation agreement on economy, trade and technologies in April 2017.

According to General Manager of Ajman China Mall, Luo Feng, the second phase of the project will cover an area of around 1 square kilometer (100 hectares) with the total expected investment of $477 million.

It plans to incorporate a Chinese brand automobile logistics park, a Hunan engineering machinery exhibition area, a Chinese language school and a hotel apartment structure, which together will present a good opportunity for more Hunan enterprises to go global.
