Baotou to host permanent magnet motor demonstration base

China Northern Rare Earth (Group) High-Tech Co., a Baotou-based enterprise, is to invest 10 billion yuan ($1.58 billion) in developing a permanent magnet motor intelligent manufacturing industry demonstration base, according to an April 27 Baotou Daily report.

The demonstration base will be a national first-class motor core component production base and high-efficiency motor advanced manufacturing demonstration base that integrates production, storage and sales with downstream motor manufacturers.

At present, in accordance with the notification requirements of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology General Office on launching the 2018 Smart Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration Projects, Baotou high-tech district has already recommended that Northern Rare Earth actively declare this project, and will continue to follow the progress of the project.
