Wuxi attracts high-end talents

The High-End Overseas Talents Summit was held in the Technology Business Center in Wuxi's Xinwu district on April 25.

The event focuses on innovative projects, and is attended by young innovators, experts, scholars and entrepreneurs from home and abroad.

Yu Zhiping, professor at the Institute of Microelectronics of Tsinghua University, and Zhou Jianjun, professor at the Department of Micro/Nano Electronics of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, were invited to deliver keynote speeches during the event.

As a National Innovation Demonstration Zone in southern Jiangsu province and a National Sensing Innovation Demonstration Park, Wuxi National Hi-Tech District (Xinwu District) has introduced a range of major projects worth over 10 billion yuan ($1.58 billion), such as Shanghai Huahong Group and China Electronics Technology HIK Group Co Ltd (CETHIK).

At present, Xinwu district is home to over 660 start-up companies established by entrepreneurial teams made up of a total of 5,000 people, including two teams led by Nobel laureates and four by overseas scholars. Among the team members are 81 experts from the "Thousand Talents Program", seven from the "Ten Thousand Talents Program", 13 from the "Innovative Talents Plan", and 110 other talents. Also, 61 of them have PhDs, and there are 17 teams from Jiangsu's "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent" program.

Wuxi Hi-tech district will further extend policy support for project matching activities to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, creating more opportunities for entrepreneurs.
