Hundreds of experts and entrepreneurs gathered in Yangzhou, Jiangsu province on April 25 to discuss the development prospects of the biological health industry.

During the forum, attendees delivered enlightening speeches, such as the ones on cellular pharmacokinetics and personalized immunotherapy, and revealed the cutting-edge technology and research findings in bio-health science.

Zhang Yaowu, a local official, said that Yangzhou hoped to develop the forum into a long-term platform in order to boost the development of both the bio-science industry and local enterprises.

He said that once established, the platform will raise the level of the bio-health industry and make the local bio-health industrial park a better place for investing and innovating.

The bio-health industry, dubbed the "sunrise industry" due to its vigor, vitality and fierce competition, is experiencing unprecedented growth in China. With keen foresight, Yangzhou has been cultivating this promising industry for years and even built its own bio-health industrial park in 2015.

In recent years, the 8.3-square-kilometer park has attracted renowned biomedical companies such as the Jiangsu Lianhuan Pharmaceutical Group Co and Aurisco Pharmaceutical Co, and has been developing rapidly.

Statistics showed that by the end of 2017, the output value of the 76 bio-health companies stationed in the park reached 8.6 billion yuan ($1.4 billion). By 2020, the park is expected to have 10 major projects underway and achieve a tax revenue of one billion yuan.
