China has been encouraging development of emerging industries that utilize resources reasonably and have high added value.
Let's take a look at the top 10 cities, ranked for their "technology readiness" level, out of the 26 studied by accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers and the China Development Research Foundation.
The ranking is part of the Chinese Cities of Opportunities 2018 list released in March.
These cities are Harbin, Shenyang, Dalian, Urumqi, Lanzhou, Xi'an, Taiyuan, Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Jinan, Qingdao, Zhengzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Changsha, Zhuhai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Kunming and Guiyang.
According to these two entities, the "technical maturity" dimension is designed to weigh the development status of cutting-edge technology industries in each of the 26 cities, and it includes five criteria: "internet plus", "digital economy", "software and multimedia design", "technology market size" and "number of high-tech incubators".
