An opening ceremony for Huayun Peony Garden took place alongside the 2018 Dalian Peony Cultural Festival in Lushunkou district of Dalian city, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on April 23.
A variety of dancing and singing performances were held, together with calligraphy, painting and ceramics exhibitions.
The peony garden is 11 kilometers from the downtown area of Lushunkou district, covering an area of more than 84 hectares.
At present, there are more than 300,000 peonies in the garden from more than 800 categories. Over 100 of them are 100 years old.
In recent years, Lushunkou district has taken advantage of agricultural resources to promote the industrial integration of tourism and agriculture, which is expected to boost economic development in the region.
