Guidelines for those walking through the Zhuhai Border Checkpoint of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) were released on April 23.

The checkpoint encompasses 74,000 sq m (18.3 acres) of transport areas. Its Traffic Center comprises Highway Passenger Transportation, Tourist Distribution, and Shuttle Bus areas. Construction standards are said to be up to a Category-A Bus Station with 24-hour customs clearance service.

Tips for Exit

Hong Kong-bound passengers arriving at the 15-m (49.2-ft) Exit Floor of the Zhuhai-Hong Kong Passenger Clearance Building can clear customs before taking an escalator to the Shuttle Bus Hall on the ground floor. There, one can buy a ticket and wait to board outside. It will take about 30 minutes to reach Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities (HKBCF).

For those going to Macao, the "back-to-back" joint inspection system on the 15-m (49.2-ft) Exit Floor of Zhuhai-Macao Passenger Clearance Building allows only one inspection. There is no need to take a shuttle bus as the checkpoints are directly connected.
