Tripartite agreement signed to boost heavy ion tech

As part of efforts to promote the application of heavy iron technology, the municipal government of Hohhot has signed a tripartite agreement with the management committee of Horinger New Area and the Institute of Modern Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

Luo Qing, director of the management committee of Horinger New Area, Xu Ruixia, vice-mayor of Hohhot, and Xiao Guoqing, head of the Institute of Modern Physics attended the signing ceremony.

According to the agreement, the three sides will work with each other on the heavy ion therapy, radiation breeding and sweet sorghum industries.

Hohhot will introduce the heavy ion accelerator developed by CAS’s Institute of Modern Physics and build a heavy-iron therapy center in the city.

The city also plans to promote the planting of sweet sorghum in Tumd Left Banner and establish an integrated industrial chain of sweet sorghum with the heavy iron technology

In addition, the partnership will nurture projects in nuclear track membranes and vacuum freeze-drying to enhance its in-depth cooperation.
