Tumd Right Banner launches tree-planting activities

More than 1,800 people from 66 government departments of Tumd Right Banner joined a voluntary tree-planting activity hosted by the banner on April 12, according to Baotou Daily.

According to the local bureau of forestry, the voluntary tree-planting campaign is part of the banner’s efforts at ecological afforestation. Other related work by the banner is also in full swing.

On March 7, work on the banner’s Mount Daqing Ecological Restoration Project restarted. At present, the maintenance tasks for the nursery stock planted in 2017 including watering, grafting, pruning, and replanting are underway. Also, the planting activity for the remaining 1,500 mu (100 hectares) of the mountain’s southern slope started on April 3.
