Ji'an Museum was founded on Sep 15, 1985 and was renovated in November 2006. It re-opened to the public in 2013 and currently has seven departments including a display office, a file department and a news room.
The museum, covering 13,120 sq m, was designed by Qi Kang, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. Its exterior resembles an eight-petal lotus which reflects a traditional Chinese style.
