Jilin museum was founded in 1962 and is also a 4A scenic spot and a relic collection and preservation base. It is a comprehensive museum combining multiple functions such as antiques collection, relic preservation, scientific research and education.
The exhibition area in the museum covers 16,000 sq m and displays 18,836 exhibits, mainly archaeological treasures from the Neolithic Age, the Bronze Age and the Iron Age, but including falling stone specimens.
The most famous item at the museum is the world's largest falling stone which weighs 1,770 kilograms.
