Wuxi partners with Sanmenxia

The Wuxi Municipal Committee of the CPPCC achieved friendly relations with its counterpart, Sanmenxia, in Central China's Henan province, during a meeting in Wuxi on April 17.

The agreement was signed by Zhao Yuhui, chairman of the Sanmenxia Municipal Committee of the CPPCC, and Zhou Minwei, Zhao's counterpart in Wuxi.

The two parties agreed to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in fostering economic, social and cultural development and promoting a shared prosperity.

Zhou extended a warm welcome to Zhao and his delegation, saying the friendly relationship between the two cities was the result of past cooperation and would be conducive to good future relations. Guided by the ideals of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the Wuxi Municipal Committee of the CPPCC will be able to play a larger role in achieving growth and development, he added.

Zhao said that Sanmenxia would draw on Wuxi's experiences to achieve its own high-quality development.

Shanzhou district in Sanmenxia has been receiving 600,000 yuan ($95,500) in relief supplies from the Wuxi Municipal Committee of the CPPCC since Wuxi initiated a charity program called "Going to Shanzhou" in 2013. The initiative has helped to enhance exchanges between the two cities.
