Baotou Daily holds sixth Arbor Day activity

Baotou Daily’s sixth Arbor Day took place in the Shiguai district of the city in Inner Mongolia autonomous region on April 14, welcoming more than 100 participants from every walk of life.

Wang Wenzhong, Party committee secretary of Baotou Heating Co, said, “Our company has participated in the annual activity for six consecutive years. We organized more than 30 young volunteers to plant dozens of trees today with the hope of building Baotou into an ecological city with blue sky, green mountains and clean water.”

Apart from company staff members, the activity also saw the participation of many kindergarten children, who planted trees with their parents. According to the head of Mornwind Preschool, Wang Jianping, about 40 families from the kindergarten took part in the event.

“Our teaching activities in April focused on the theme of ‘the power of seed’ and the activity played an important role in promoting environmental-protection education among children,” Wang said.
