Han Jingyi, deputy major of Xiamen, met with Sailas Thangal, the outgoing consul general of India in Xiamen, Fujian province on April 17.
Han thanked the consul general for all the efforts he has made in promoting cooperation between Xiamen and India.
He said that after the successful hosting of the BRICS Summit in Sept 2017, Xiamen has seen close relations with India in economy and trade, and he hoped that the consul general would continue supporting their cooperation.
Sailas Thangal, the outgoing consul general of India in Guangzhou, spoke highly of the service and assistance the Xiamen municipal government offered when the prime minister of India attended the summit in 2017.
He confirmed that he would continue keeping a close eye on Xiamen's economic and social development and advise the cooperation between Xiamen and India in service, education, stones and medicine.
The two also discussed the Indian Film Exhibition to be held in Xiamen this year.
