Sixty-some cultural and creative works created by cross-Straits college students kicked off an exhibition tour Monday at Fujian Normal University in Fuzhou, capital city of East China's Fujian province.
The works, selected from those of the 500-strong entrants of the Cross-Straits Cultural and Creative Contest, combined modern design ideas with traditional cultural elements embedded in the relics from Fujian Museum, and drew numerous visitors.
The tour, five stops in total, is sponsored by the National Art Fund. In addition to Fujian Normal University, the next stops will be Shihezi University in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Ningxia Normal University in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region, Zhejiang Normal University in Zhejiang province and Capital Normal University in Beijing.
According to Huang Xiaoxi, director of the Center of Culture and Creation at the Fujian Museum, the event aims to promote traditional Chinese culture and draw creative talents while boosting friendship between cross-Straits universities and furthering communication and collaboration in cultural and creative industry between the mainland and Taiwan.
