Guangxi Boqing Food Co Ltd

Guangxi Boqing Food Co Ltd, established in 1995, is a joint venture between Yizhou Sugar Industry Development Co Ltd and British Sugar Overseas Corporation. The company has a registered capital of 325 million yuan ($51.77 million) and assets totaling 960 million yuan.

Currently the company owns three plants, in Shibie, Huaiyuan and Bodong and has a daily processing capacity of 23,000 tons of sugarcane. Its main products include white sugar, red sugar, refined sugar, consumable alcohol, and compound fertilizer.

The company makes use of foreign managerial experience to establish an efficient management model and spends millions every year on accounting firms to improve the financial management of the company. It has gone entirely paperless through the use of an automated office system and ensures the quality of its products through a large variety of production control equipment from six countries including America, Germany and France. In its efforts to save energy and reduce emissions, the company builds sewage treatment works in its three plants. It is among the companies with the most advanced technology in the sugar industry.

The company received a certificate of international quality in 2000. Two brands of the company, namely "Shihua" and "Yuanshan", received the title of "China's Green Food" in 2001 and are regularly honored as producers of "High-quality Products in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region". The company has also won such honorary titles such as "High-tech Enterprise in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region" and "Leading Agricultural Industrialization Enterprise in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region" and was also awarded the title of "Leading Enterprise in Poverty Alleviation". Its compound fertilizer production equipment won a national patent for utility model in 2005.

In the coming years, the company intends to increase the annual output of white sugar in its three plants to 360,000 tons and build itself into a green enterprise with high productivity.
