Xinqing Science & Technology Industrial Park in Doumen district, founded in 1999, is one of the leading national technological development zones in Zhuhai. The park was formerly known as Xinqing Industrial Park but was renamed in 2012 when it merged with the Baijiao Industrial Science & Technology Park. It currently houses more than 10 nationally accredited high-tech enterprises.

The 8.86-sq-km industrial zone is divided into two parts, with the eastern part being composed of the former Baijiao Industrial Science & Technology Park, and the western part making up the main area of the park.

Xinqing Sci-tech Industrial Park achieved 24.1 billion yuan ($3.8 billion) in total industrial output from January to June, 2016, a growth rate of 7.05 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. Fixed assets also saw steady growth of 5.02 percent to 1.16 billion from January to May of the same year.

The burgeoning development has come thanks in part to the park's advantageous location, which is easily accessible from all places. The well-established transportation network has played a big role and is expected to yield even more benefits with the construction of Xianghai Bridge and the intercity rail which will connect Zhuhai with the cities of Guangzhou, Foshan and Jiangmen.

The park has earmarked 4,000 sq m for a startup incubator which encourages and aids emerging innovative businesses in areas such as e-commerce, cultural creation, big data, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. It served 20 projects in its first year.

The park made 101 patent applications in the first half of 2016 alone.
