The Traditional Chinese Medicine Science & Technology Industrial Park of Cooperation between Guangdong and Macao began first-phase operations in Hengqin New Area of Zhuhai on Sept 27, 2017.
The park is the first of its kind, forming an alliance between Guangdong and Macao in the TCM industry, and is the first result of the Framework Agreement on Cooperation Between Guangdong & Macao signed on March 6, 2011.
The first phase of the project covers an area of 120,000 square meters, including facilities dedicated to R&D, quality testing, and production for small and medium-sized medicine enterprises in the Chinese mainland and Macao.
As of Sept 29, 2017, the park housed 47 companies, including those from Macao, with many more looking to set up shop in the area.
TCM Sci-tech Industrial Park was designated as a first-wave provincial sci-tech incubator for Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwanese enterprises on Dec 14.
A liaison office of the Guangdong Food & Drug Administration (GDFDA) will guide public service platforms and enterprises in the park in terms of registration, review, approval, and licensing.
