Zhuhai Intelligent Industrial Park opened on Sept 20 in the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Tangjiawan) but is still in the construction stage. The important industry carrier is designed to establish a complete development system focusing on big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and Internet of Things (IoT).
The park is comprised of two areas with different functions. The Pilot Area, with a floorage of 210,000 square meters, will be located within the Harbor 1 High-Tech Park. Its task is to incubate startups while also promoting industrial technology applications through demonstration practices.
The 2.37-square-kilometer Accumulation Area will be located in the Technological Innovation Coast. It will house high-end innovation platforms and related major projects aimed at developing national innovation-driven industrial clusters.
The park has attracted 15 projects valued at about 10 billion yuan ($1.5 billion) as of January 2018, and that amount is expected to double by the end of the year.
Companies who have already agreed to situate in the park include the Chengzhi Big Data Center, Sinomarch Robotics Science Park, SGSG Science & Technology, and Sino-Israel Innovation Accelerator.
The park will become a state-level smart industry demonstration park and plans to house more than 100 enterprises which will generate a combined annual revenue of more than 30+ billion yuan ($4.6 billion) by the end of 2020.
