Yuyuan Garden [Photo/VCG]
This famous classical garden was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), by Pan Yunduan, a finance minister from Sichuan, and was previously known as the "Greatest beauty of Southeast China". It was renovated by the government several times after 1949, and is now a key relic under State protection.
The garden has scenic sections called "Mountains and Forests in the City", "Magnificent Woods and Beautiful Valleys", "Historical Relics Heralding Spring", "Water and Rockery", and "Top of the World", along with an Inner Garden.
