Liaoning Provincial Museum in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, launched a “mobile museum" in a huge van, attracting a great deal of attention from the public.

Inside the van, three 42-inch single-screen interactive media players, which visitors can operate, are used to play pictures and videos related to cultural relics from Liaoning Provincial Museum.

Five transparent showcases display the museum’s independently developed cultural and creative products.

A large screen on the outside of the van plays videos promoting the museum and the TV show National Treasure.

The mobile museum displays more than 400 photographs from the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC) to the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), showcasing the long history and cultural changes in Liaoning province.

Liaoning Provincial Museum started the project of mobile museums in September 2014 and finished it at the end of 2016, becoming the fourth in the country (following Sichuan Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum and Hunan Provincial Museum) and the first in Northeast China to have such facilities.

A staff member of the museum said that since November 2016, the mobile museum has offered nearly 20 exhibitions to Shenyang residents, making them aware of the country’s and the province’s unique culture.
