According to staff members at the factory, the welding workshop has nearly 400 machines employing the most advanced high-tech welding techniques. In addition, 110 fully-automatic robots will take on the painting work.
Liu Yigong, general manager of FAW-Volkswagen, said that to meet with consumer demand in China the Q5L model has been expanded by about 9 cm and has been equipped with many intelligent devices such as a virtual cabin.
The company plans to build another three plants in Foshan, Guangdong province (the second base); Qingdao, Shandong province and Tianjin. With the earlier-built base and the Jilin province factory, the company will complete a five-base initiative to further promote its brands around China.
