An intelligent system was recently installed in Jilin province to improve customs approval efficiency, which drives the development of international trade.
Tax collection and exemption formalities have been cut down from 10 days to three and there is no need for company staff members to collect application materials and go to departments by themselves.
All processes can be done through the Internet, which saves entrepreneurs' time and reduces traffic costs.
"Companies only need to upload their materials onto a customs online system now," Jia Yupeng, a staff member at the Changchun Customs Recording Center, explained. "Even the offline service windows have been shut down."
The intelligent system is also used in the checking points at the port, which makes it easier for trucks to enter and exit.
According to Zhang Yu, director of the supervision department at the Changchun Economic Development Zone's customs, intelligent devices at the checkpoints can scan the numbers of the containers and weigh the containers automatically when the trucks exit the port.
Su Yinghua, vice director at the Changchun Customs, said the province has already started business cooperation with Zarubino in Russia, Pusan in South Korea and European cities.
"Changchun Customs is now focusing on developing high-tech devices and putting them into use to contribute to the growth of foreign trade," Su added.
