Low-cost apartments ready for talents

A batch of apartments that are ready to move in has been provided for talents by the government of Changchun New Area, China's Northeast Jilin province.

"The apartments are like sparrows which may be small but includes all vital organs. They are in move-in conditions for high-end talents," said one of workers responsible for the apartments.

Ninety apartments are available in total, divided into two parts: 30 apartments with 47 sq m for high-end talents and 60 shared-apartments with about 110 sq m for ordinary talents.

The apartments can accommodate a total of 155 talents.

The apartments can be rented by enterprises registering and paying taxes in the new area and having independent legal person status, high-end talents operating businesses in the new area for about three years and having no place to live in downtown, talents and graduates needed for the area's industrial development.

Generally, the term of lease is three years. The rent of apartments for ordinary talents is 10 yuan ($1.58) per sq m and for high-end talents is 1,260 to 1,410 yuan after 50 percent of the rent is covered by the government of Changchun New Area.
