Three round diamonds are carved into the top of the tablet, representing the sun, the moon and a star. The picture of mountains and rivers represents natural beauty. In the middle is Mount Tai. The combination of these images has great significance. The back of the medal has a poem from Du Fu (a famous poet in China's Tang Dynasty)'s Wangyue, which eulogizes the grandeur of Mount Tai.
