Arrival of an international convention center at Huangxing town, Changsha county, has been announced, a reflection of the growing conference and exhibition industry in Changsha, csxnews reported on April 11.
Close to another of the city's landmark buildings – the Changsha International Exhibition Center -- the project has a planned floorage of 300,000 square meters, and will incorporate 150,000 square-meters of meeting rooms, multi-function rooms, a banquet hall, a lecture hall and high-end hotels. It will be capable of hosting such world-class summits and conferences as the G20 Summit.
The proposed convention center boasts convenient transportation and is well connected with transport hubs within the city, being close to Metro line 2, separated from Changsha South Railway Station by only a narrow river, and easily accessible from Changsha Huanghua International Airport by maglev train.
The project has been in the works for a while now and will begin construction this year.
In recent years, the Central China city has been home to a series of large-scale events, including the China (Changsha) Prefabricated Building and Construction Technology Expo 2017, the Central China (Hunan) Agriculture Expo and China (Hunan) International Rail Transit Industrial Expo and High-level Forum, making it an increasingly favored location for large-scale gatherings.
Upon completion, the Changsha International Convention Center will help Changsha catch up with other major cities across China in holding large-scale conferences and bring in new opportunities.
