Yossi Vardi, the "godfather of Israel's high-tech industry", said he is amazed by the innovations achieved in Guangzhou, where promising startups surge every year. He made the remarks at a roadshow for the 2018 Conversation between Guangzhou and the World held at the ongoing Bo'ao Forum for Asia on April 9.
Themed "New Era, New Guangzhou, New Opportunities", the 2018 Conversation between Guangzhou and the World is a series of global promotional events, with roadshows previously held in Davos, Paris, Beijing, and Guangzhou. This time, Guangzhou chose to make a presentation at the Bo'ao Forum for Asia, a China-hosted high-end dialogue platform that convenes business leaders worldwide.
Present at the roadshow were executives of multinational companies, superior Chinese entrepreneurs, government officials and global mainstream media correspondents.
Vardi is one of Israel's first high-tech entrepreneurs with over 49 years' experience founding or helping build over 60 high-tech companies. He made a keynote speech at the roadshow in which he expressed great admiration for Guangzhou's business prospects and the government's efforts to attract entrepreneurial talents.
Guangzhou has always been China's gateway, a world hub, and one of the very few places that boast huge strategic advantages, Vardi remarked. He has been to Guangzhou four times over the past two years seeking cooperation opportunities and called on members of the audience to join him.
