South China Agricultural University is one of China's national key universities and it is sponsored by both Guangdong province and the Ministry of Agriculture. The campus covers an area of over 8,250 mu (550 hectares) and its total floor area is over 1.37 million square meters.
The history of SCAU can be traced back to 1909 and, after a century of development, the university has developed itself into a distinguished school with strong traditions, as reflected by the university motto "Upgrading Integrity, Broadening Knowledge, Pursuing Truth, Seeking Breakthroughs".
