According to statistics from the Yangzhou municipal tourism bureau, the city’s eight major scenic spots received a total of 541,000 tourists during the three-day tomb-sweeping holiday, a year on year increase of 10.96 percent; the new scenic sites and county scenic areas received a total of 94,000 tourists.

Short-term tours by car or bus to the surrounding areas like Ganquan Town, which is only eight kilometers away from Yangzhou’s city center and is noted for cherry blossoms, were still tourists’ first choice for the holiday.

Scenic spots also organized activities like local folk performances to attract tourists. The live-action performance with Yangzhou characteristics by Slender West Lake Scenic Area drew people’s attention. Visitors were also given wicker bracelets and circlets as gifts.

Scenic areas, like He Garden, Daming Temple, Slender West Lake and Yangzhou Sanwan Scenic Area, were flooded with visitors taking pictures and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Yangzhou throughout the short holiday.
