The Chinese Language Program is offered to sutdents who love Chinese lanuage and culture, or wish to study degree programs delivered in Chinese. In the past decade, SDUST has received more than 1000 international students for long-term Chinese language and culture courses, and over 800 international students for short-term courses. SDUST has established partnerships with many educational institutions abroad by way of academic cooperation and academic exchanges, and regularly sends Chinese language teachers to universities abroad for teaching. SDUST boasts rich teaching experience that has been accumulated through years of practice, as well as an efficient model of teaching management, a top class faculty, advanced facilities, scientific teaching methods, and satisfying teaching results, etc. All of these have earned SDUST a good reputation among its counterparts both at home and abroad, among students and their parents. The Chinese Language Program has now become the driving force for the international exchange and cooperation programs at SDUST.
SDUST offers elementary, intermediate and advanced Chinese language courses. Students will be arranged into different course levels based on the placement test. All courses last for one year (2 semesters). Application for half a year's study (one semester) is also accepted.

HSK Test
Students who finish the elementary course are expected to reach HSK Level 4, and are able to take a bachelor degree course (offered in Chinese) in science, engineering, agriculture, medicine, economics, law, management, education.
Students who finish the intermediate course are expected to reach HSK Level 5, and are able to take bachelor degree courses (offered in Chinese) in Chinese language and culture, history, philosophy, Chinese traditional medicine, etc.
Students who finish the advanced course are expected to reach HSK Level 6, and are able to take master and doctoral degree courses in higher education institutions in China. They are also capable of using the Chinese language in daily life.
