The Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve lies on the southernmost point of Chinese mainland's Leizhou Peninsula and is a zonally distributed coastal beach part of southwestern Guangdong.
The Zhanjiang Mangrove National Nature Reserve covers a total area of 20,278 hectares, more than 9,000 of which are mangrove forests. It accounts for 33 percent of the country's total mangrove forest area and 79 percent of Guangdong's total.
It is the largest, most diverse and densest mangrove natural reserve on the Chinese mainland.
