The Leizu Shrine in Leizhou

After that, go to visit Leizhou, a historical city in China, which has been known as "the Ancient Town in the Area South of the Five Ridges and the Wonder in the North of South China Sea" since ancient times. With a long history, Leizhou has a lot of cultural and historical sites.

Firstly, visit the Leizu Shrine (staying there for 1.5 hours). The shrine is located on top of the Yingbang Mountain, a mountain southwest of the ancient Leizhou town. The Shrine is one of the eight tourist attractions in Leiyang (today's Leizhou). The Shrine was first built during the 16th Year of the Zhenguan Reign in the Tang Dynasty (618-907) in honor of Mr. Chen Wenyu (570-638), the first prefectural governor of Leizhou during the Tang Dynasty. The majestic Leizu Shrine, covering an area of 10,000 square meters, is impressive. It is one of the biggest ancestral shrines in the areas south of the Five Ridges. There are quite a few rare and valuable pieces such as the 1,000-year-old stone man, the plaque inscribed with Emperor Qianlong’s drawings, and tablets of various dynasties. After that, we return to downtown Zhanjiang, and that is the end of the trip.
