With the arrival of spring many flowers around Pingtan come into bloom adding both color and fragrance to the fresh island air. One of the season's highlights is the blossoming of rape, a vibrant yellow that certainly captures the eye.

Local farmers have grown the flowers on account of their high yield and profitability with rape being used to make useful oil. An added bonus is the color it adds the villages such as Xianjian and the tourists that arrive to enjoy the sight of the flower.

Explore Zhuyuhu Sculpture Garden

Walking along the cobblestone pavements in the Zhuyuhu sculpture garden, visitors are able to enjoy vast stretches of China roses and corn poppies that span the full color spectrum from red to white to yellow to orange.

According to Ding Yucheng, administrator of Zhuyuhu sculpture garden, the garden boasts 350 square meters of rape flowers and 460 square meters of corn poppies. This means that visitors can enjoy both flowers and sculptures while taking a tour.
