Food festival opens in Hohhot

The fourth Inner Mongolia food culture festival opened in Hohhot, capital of the autonomous region, on March 29 and ran for two days.

Top chefs from Inner Mongolia and Mongolia shared traditional cuisine, including shaomai, whole roasted lamb, hand-grabbed mutton and regional dairy products.

To promote Mongolian cuisine, the food culture festival has been held four times, according to Lang Lixing, the president of the Inner Mongolia Catering and Restaurant Association.

The festival also featured milk tea and dairy production competitions, and an advanced seminar on Mongolian cuisine.

Lang said the festival will continue to promote regional food, raise the quality of Mongolia’s catering industry, and further present Mongolian cuisine and culture to the world.
