Tai'an is one of the north-south transportation hubs in China. More than 87 trains call at the Tai'an station every day. Beijing-Shanghai Expressway and Beijing-Fuzhou State Highway join up here. West Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway also stops at Tai'an station.
The total highway mileage of Tai'an is 14328.9 kilometers and the highway density is 184.6 kilometers per 100 square kilometers. It has seven national roads, 15 provincial roads and 88 county roads. Rural highway traffic mileage exceeds 13,000 km and the road rate of the administrative village reached 100 percent. The city has six expressways with the length of 238.8 kilometers. The highway network has basically been formed.
