Fuzhou-Pingtan High-speed Railway
The high-speed railway connecting Pingtan with Fuzhou, capital city of Fujian province, began construction in 2013. It starts from Songxia Port in neighboring Changle county and reaches Su’ao town on Pingtan Island. After opening to traffic in 2019, the time travelling from Fuzhou to Pingtan is expected to be shortened to half an hour.
